About the Department
The Rare Disease organization leads all US Commercial efforts for Novo Nordisk's Rare Disease portfolio. The Rare Disease portfolio includes medical treatments, customer solutions, and devices across multiple Therapy Areas including Rare Bleeding Disorders, Rare Endocrine Disorders, Rare Renal Disorders, and Hemoglobinopathies (Sickle Cell Disease & Beta Thalassemia), as well as new products in the pipeline. The Rare Disease organization is responsible for leading the enterprise approach to achieving our patient care goals and financial objectives, devising and delivering transformative patient and customer experiences, addressing unmet needs across the communities we serve, and setting the industry standard for extraordinary execution. The team members collaborate and partner cross functionally with multiple functions and groups throughout the US organization, Clinical Development, Research & Early Development, other affiliates, and the Global HQ teams. The Position The Senior Director, Rare Disease Marketing is accountable for overseeing inline & emerging assets for rare bleeding and rare endocrine therapy areas (TA), leading the strategy for each asset and overall portfolio to ensure success. In coordination with global, will develop and implement effective pre and post-launch and in-line plans to maximize revenue, market share and profitability goals. Has significant decision-making authority and influence on impacting revenue and profitability. Leads the annual brand and portfolio strategy planning processes to drive integrated customer centric strategies and programming. Responsible for brand and portfolio performance in partnership with sales leadership. Manages US marketing budget and allocates spend in accordance with business priorities. Significant contributor to the global strategy for the portfolio by working closely with global marketing and medical leaders by participating in cross-functional and global Core Commercialization Teams. Embody NN leadership behaviors, embracing innovation, leadership over process, empowerment and the value of time. Relationships Reports to the Group Vice President of Rare Disease and is a key contributor to the Rare Disease Leadership team. This leader will serve as the primary interface with the heads of both commercial and non-commercial functions within NNI relative to designated areas within Rare Disease, their performance and business impact. This leader will work closely with Commercial Excellence, Field Sales and Community Engagement to deliver on the Rare Disease promise. Essential Functions
Physical Requirements 30-40% overnight travel required. Development of People Supervisory. Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way. Qualifications
The base compensation range for this position is $172,000 to $318,600. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance. Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
